Hi, I’m Mark, photographer and founder of Shotkit.
I've spent the past 5 years building this community and I'm so glad you're a part of it!
Shotkit all started with a desire to find out what camera gear my favourite photographers were using.
I'd just quit my job to shoot weddings professionally, and longed for an online community where I could learn and get inspired.
Nothing really existed back then where professionals, beginners, and everyone in between could mix in the same friendly environment, learning from each other.

Fast forward to today, where Shotkit welcomes over 10,000 visits each day from all over the world.
Shotkit gives you a peek inside the camera bags of some of the world's best photographers... but it's also much more than that.
You can find gear reviews, photography tutorials, business advice, free tools, inspiration, and much, much more!
If I'm not out shooting a wedding, it's safe to say that I'll either be reviewing the latest gear or writing an article right here on Shotkit... and I love what I do :-)

Shotkit has become a valuable resource to learn from some truly amazing photographers.
If you’re interested in the gear behind the photo as much as capturing the photo itself, then you’re in the right place!
Shotkit is all about inspiring, teaching and supporting photographers from around the world to become better at art and in their business.
Shotkit has been featured in multiple international newspapers and quoted on multiple industry sites, including SLR Lounge, F Stoppers, Peta Pixel, Imaging-Resource, Digital Photography School, Gulf Photo Plus, The Washington Post, PhotobizX, Sydney Morning Herald, Smashing Magazine, 500PX, CaptureMag, Sprouting Photographer, Picture Correct, Photography Talk and many more.
It's not just me writing the articles, either - the Shotkit authors are professional photographers from all other the world, with years of experience and numerous accolades under their belts.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, you can trust what you read here on my site ;-)
Expert photographers from all genres contribute to Shotkit articles.
Shotkit wouldn't be where it is today without the help and expertise of our contributors, providing in depth, real world, unbiased reviews and write-ups.
Some links to shopping sites are affiliated in order to generate revenue for the running of the site, but product recommendations are always unbiased.
I'm grateful for your support in keeping the lights on here at Shotkit!
Feel free to leave authors and featured photographers a comment at the end of their articles if you have any questions - they're always happy to help.
Most new visitors to Shotkit come with an interest to take a peek into other photographers’ camera bags, but there’s also a ton of great information and inspiration in the blog if you dig deep enough.
Use the handy 'Search' function above to check photographers who own the camera gear you're interested in.
